A brief Introduction to Homeopathy
Homeopathy regards health as a balance between mind and body. Imbalance in mind or body can cause disease or dysfunction. Homeopathic therapy seeks to unlock the healing process unique for each person and can only accomplish this by careful evaluation and consistent follow-up.
Homeopathy, discovered over 200 years ago by Samuel Hahnemann, is based on the principal that “like cures like.” This means that a remedy which causes a certain set of symptoms if given to a healthy person can cure the same symptoms in a sick person.
Homeopathic remedies are tinctures of plants, minerals and other biological materials, highly diluted until only the atomic structure of the original substance remains. Since remedies operate on a molecular level, there are no toxic or chemical side-effects, making homeopathy particularly effective for infants, children, hypersensitive individuals and older patients. The homeopathic pharmacy has been regulated by the U. S. Food and Drug Adminstration (FDA) since 1938.
